Authentic, Typical Roman Cuisine.
This cosy restaurant is located in an alley in the centre of Malaga, on the way to the Teatro Cervantes. It would go unnoticed if not for its reputation purely based on word of mouth among city locals, among which it is named as one of the best Italian restaurants in town.
It is run by the owner, Italian of course. He will inform you of the daily special as well as make suggestions from the house. Importantly, the oyster Angelino. Everything is prepared in the traditional Roman way, in a small kitchen, with fresh seasonal produce. And the taste and quality is evident in the result!
One of the most popular and also unique to this region is the starter of mussels in tomato sauce and white wine, as well as the cured carpaccio. For main course there are many options to choose from. Pasta is the star of the show by far, made in a very simple Italian way, among them are the gnocchi with meat bolgnese, bucatini, spaghetti with clams, with tasty cheese rigatoni carbonara peccorino. Then if you prefer to try meat or chicken, chicken Roman is just great and the pork tenderloin also comes highly recommended.
If you are someone who "eats with your eyes", I recommend checking out the Facebook page of Angelino Osteria, where they publish pictures of the dishes on the menu. I bet you will not know where to start!
The service at the Osteria is friendly and approachable, both the owner and the staff will answer any of your questions regarding the menu.
The Osteria Angelino has restaurants in Rome, Milan, Lima and since 2012 in Malaga.
